Its Happy Cook For Your Pets Day! What are you cooking?
Christmas in July means Christmas movies on Hallmark and HMM! I am still going through my list of movies saved on my DVR. Check out my reviews over on my FB page if you’re interested. It’s exciting.. but what’s most exciting is the countdown to the 2019 Holiday movies. I am totally looking forward to it. It seems everyone is getting wise with the diversity. This year there’s going to be a Hanukkah one (maybe 2)! So far there isn’t a time and date for the 2019 list but this is what I’ve found so far.
Clearly I’m on a deadline because I have taken the time to even research how many movies these repeat offenders has been in.
I can’t help myself. I have goals I tell ya!

A beauty queen with a bad reputation and a morality clause… what’s a belle to do?
Dominic is just your average hunky hero, new to town with a garage. According to his sister he needs to acclimate with the townspeople of Southwood, GA…maybe sponsor a team or perhaps a contestant in the upcoming Miss Southwood Beauty Pageant. The problem is, Dominic hates drama. Pair him up with a dethroned beauty queen with her eyes on the Miss USA prize, and drama is what he gets.
Teacher Gift Ideas to Come Up with While Watching Tonight’s Hallmark Movie
Tonight’s Hallmark movie is… It’s Christmas, Eve. It’ about a school superintendent with a knack for turning around schools meets a single father who works as the head of the school’s bankrupt music department. As she rediscovers her passion for music, she works to save the dreams of the kids who love music.
Since this movie deals with a school setting, I can’t help but be reminded to start making my gift list for teachers. Now way back in the day I used to get all creative with my cupcakes and packaging.
But then my kids got older … Now don’t get me wrong… I still give Teacher Gifts but usually it comes in the form of gift card in an envelope with a holiday hand-sanitizer attached to it and a lil’ something else.
There are some cute labels here at Darling Doodles.
Now that I’m raising five boys (Yes five. …1 senior, 2 sophomores, and 2 eighth graders) I have to get a little creative with what I can do. Being a baker helps. I like to pair up a $10 gift card (to like a Starbucks or a fast food place where they can pick up breakfast or run out and get lunch) with a plate of goodies.
And because I’ve most of my kids have some of the same teachers over the years, I’ve learned what they like. I have I also like to get to know kids’ teachers. I know for a fact there are at least 6 teachers that will receive a batch of my delicious chocolate chip pecan cookies, 3 will get a pan of lasagna, 4 will get a loaf of banana bread. For the teachers just getting a $10 gift card, I sometimes put the cards on top of a plate of homemade ugly sweater cookies. That’s always a fun thing to have your kids do over the weekend.
So you’re not a baker? That’s fine. There are lots of ways to show your teachers you care.
-Go to their web page at the school and pick up their wish-list supplies.
-Gift cards to the local grocery store.
-Volunteer your time in the classroom.
-Gift cards to the movies.
And if you really know your teachers and you’re not a baker…here’s a cute thing to do for the ones you know… but …. you must know them and only you have to give this to them when you guys head off for happy hour after school!
Cute wine labels… again… just for the teachers you know.
Sunday November 4th
Let the Christmas Movie Games Begin! I think all of these movies are going to have to be DVR’d…. Why? Tonight is Rick Grimes’ last episode on The Walking Dead. Real Housewives of Atlanta returns. Outlander starts back up and of course there’s Ray Donovan. Fortunately for these cable shows, they’ll re-air at another time… And since I’m off work tomorrow I’ll be able to catch up on EVERYTHING! Let the popcorn popping begin!
7:00 pm The Christmas Switch Up
8:00 pm Road to Christmas Hallmark Channel
9:00 pm Marrying Father Christmas Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
UP’s version of A Christmas Switch 2018 kinda shares the title as a 2014 movie starring Robert Krause and Natasha Henstridge and the 2018 Netflix, The Christmas Switch, movie that may or may not be changed. These are not to be confused with TV One’s 2016 The Christmas Swap or Hallmark’s 2017 Switched for Christmas.
Today is November 3rd. Tonight’s movie is a book-to-TV. It reminds me of the cute gift idea with a spin on a classic, Hot Cocoa.,… don’t ask me why. There’s something about taking a classic idea (hot cocoa) and adding some simple ideas to make a decadent treat.
Here are a few cool recipes to follow. While you put these gifts together, you can watch tonight’s movie.
On deck for the Christmas movie tonight is Christmas Joy, starring in the movie is Danielle Panabaker… aka Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost if you’re a Flash fan. Of course I’ll watch this movie. As an author… at least for me, it has/is always a dream to have a book of mine turned into a TV Movie. I have Lace, Sidney Sheldon’s series, If Tomorrow Comes , and a ton of Sandra Brown and Danielle Steel to thank.
Christmas Joy…..the book is written by Nancy Naigle.
A heartwarming Christmas story about family, friendship and finding love in unexpected places.
Joy Holbrook might be all work and no play, but that changes when her Aunt Ruby takes a fall that lands her in a rehabilitation center before the holidays. Joy takes a leave of absence from her job as a market researcher to run the family farm, even though the timing may hinder her chance at garnering the promotion of her dreams.
Ben Andrews isn’t your average accountant. He also happens to be the handiest man in Crystal Falls. He’s helped his elderly neighbor, Ruby Johnson, decorate for the annual Christmas Home Tour—and win—the last several years. He’s not about to let some drop-in niece break their winning streak.
Ruby seems overly concerned about Joy being able to handle Molly. Under the impression she’s referring Molly the bunny that is one of the menagerie of animals, Joy’s not worried at all until the next morning when a little girl named Molly shows up. For the sake of her aunt, Joy is forced to partner with Ben while Ruby is on the mend to help with preparation for the Christmas tour and, in the process finds her career-focused heart dreaming of a family.
Will the magic of Christmas help her to open her heart and find her everlasting joy?
From the IMDB Summary
She’s a corporate market researcher, gunning for a promotion within her firm. Just as her company’s CEO is taking notice, Joy finds out her Aunt Ruby has broken her ankle and will be undergoing surgery. Despite the less than opportune timing, Joy makes her way back home to Crystal Falls, NC to be with her Aunt. Stars seem to be aligned as Joy sees her former crush, Ben Andrews, while at the hospital. At first, Joy is focused solely on helping her Aunt heal; even taking over her position as chair of the local Cookie Crawl competition. Eventually, she begins to let Ben in and remembers there’s no place like home for the holidays. The pair work together on the Cookie Crawl to make the event a success.
Let’s see how #Hallmark makes this classic book into a visually cheerful TV movie.
Happy Gift Making & Merry Watching
